We’re in the fast lane to Bailoutistan

Posted 12/22/2008 recovered today.

He is a brilliant writer and pundit. I wish his website had RSS feeds. I hate it when I miss one of his articles. I present to you:
Mark Steyn at the OCREGISTER

General Motors now has a market valuation about a third of Bed, Bath & Beyond, and no one says your Swash 700 Elongated Biscuit Toilet Seat Bidet is too big to fail. GM has a market capitalization of about $2.4 billion. For purposes of comparison, Toyota’s market cap is $100 billion and change (the change being bigger than the whole of GM). General Motors, like the other two geezers of the Old Three, is a vast retirement home with a small money-losing auto subsidiary. The UAW is AARP in an Edsel: It has three times as many retirees and widows as “workers” (I use the term loosely). GM has 96,000 employees but provides health benefits to a million people.

How do you make that math add up? Not by selling cars: Honda and Nissan make a pretax operating profit per vehicle of around $1,600; Ford, Chrysler and GM make a loss of $500 to $1,500. That’s to say, they lose money on every vehicle they sell. Like Henry Ford said, you can get it in any color as long as it’s red.

In the 20th century, most advanced nations made automobiles but only America made them mythic: “Drive the USA in your Chevrolet!” sang Dinah. “America’s the greatest land of all!” America had road movies. With car chases. Thelma and Louise drove their vehicle off the cliff and, unlike the Old Three, they didn’t demand American taxpayers come along for the ride. But, if you didn’t want to hit the open road, you could just hang around, being cool. In Chuck Berry’s immortal quatrain:

Please, for a real treat, go read the entire thing. You will not regret it.

Obama: ‘Only Government’ Can Fix What Ails Us…

From CNSNEWS

(CNSNews.com) – In giving the broad outlines of his economic stimulus program on Thursday, Sen. Barack Obama said “only government” can provide the solution to the country’s economic ills.

Doing too little or nothing will lead to worse trouble, he warned. Government is the answe

What a bunch of bullpuckie. Government is the answer, the answer to what?
Does this fool not know about the great depression? He is either the dumbest, most naive person ever elected to the highest office in the land. Or the biggest crook. His protected campaign was a disgrace, the fools in this country bought into the scam and elected him without knowing anything about him.

We don’t even know for sure where he was born. What we do know, is that he is fully and completely part of the Chicago political machine.

“It is true that we cannot depend on government alone to create jobs or long-term growth, but at this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe,” Obama said. “Only government can break the vicious cycles that are crippling our economy — where a lack of spending leads to lost jobs which leads to even less spending; where an inability to lend and borrow stops growth and leads to even less credit.”

After the $750 Billion gift to Fannie and Freddie, now he is talking about a one trillion dollar stimulus package.

By the time he finishes fucking up this country, my Grand Kids will be paying $25 bucks for a loaf of bread.

Him and his Global Warming freak buddies are going to destroy this country. He isn’t even in office yet and the nightmares are beginning.

Obama, speaking at George Mason University in Northern Virginia, said his plan includes a number of programs to revitalize the economy and create jobs.

Specifically, he said he wanted to double the production of alternative energy in the next three years, modernize more than 75 percent of federal buildings and improve medical record-keeping.

He also called for “21st century classrooms,” expanding Internet access in rural areas and investing more in science in research.

I just hope that enough people wake up to what is bound to happen that they take away the demoncrat majorities in the house and senate in 2010. Or better yet, the demoncrats impeach him, I could live with Biden in the Whitehouse. At least until 2012 when we can put Sarah in the Whitehouse and Jindel as Vice President

What are they thinking?

from 01/05/09

President-elect Barack Obama has selected Leon E. Panetta, the former congressman and White House chief of staff, to take over the Central Intelligence Agency. What is his experience?
If Bill Richardson hadn’t withdrawn his name from appointment as Commerce Secretary, Obama’s cabinet would look like a Clinton re du.
The next four years are going to be fun to watch, if not fun to live.

Now what is up with New Jersey? They will most likely give driver permissions to illegals along with instate college tuitions. They are calling them migrants or undocumented immigrants.

WTF, they are criminals, they broke the law when they crossed the border. I cannot understand the workings of the liberal mind. In fact I don’t want to. They have no concept of Sovereignty, being an American means nothing to them.

when my Great Grandparents came here from Ireland and England in the 19th century, they came in through New York and had to have sponsers and a way to make a living. They were in quarantine until the sponsors made arrangements for living and work. They studied hard to learn the American culture and assimilate into the community, gaining citizenship was the ultimate goal.

My Dad’s Dad was a share cropper, My Mom’s family were indentured servants. They all wanted to be Americans above all else.

2008 was the year man-made global warming was disproved

Found this at the Telegraph.co.uk

This is an important article as we are being pushed into some very costly and stupid changes in the way we live. I refuse and discount most of the claims by Agore, he has made millions from his carbon credit scam, while he lives in a mansion that uses as much energy as some mid-sized towns. He might get a bit more credit from me if he didn’t fly all over the world in private jets, but I doubt it!

A excerpt from the article:

The first, on May 21, headed “Climate change threat to Alpine ski resorts” , reported that the entire Alpine “winter sports industry” could soon “grind to a halt for lack of snow”. The second, on December 19, headed “The Alps have best snow conditions in a generation” , reported that this winter’s Alpine snowfalls “look set to beat all records by New Year’s Day”.

Easily one of the most important stories of 2008 has been all the evidence suggesting that this may be looked back on as the year when there was a turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming. Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.

First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. This winter, with the whole of Canada and half the US under snow, looks likely to be even worse. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century.

Ever shriller and more frantic has become the insistence of the warmists, cheered on by their army of media groupies such as the BBC, that the last 10 years have been the “hottest in history” and that the North Pole would soon be ice-free – as the poles remain defiantly icebound and those polar bears fail to drown. All those hysterical predictions that we are seeing more droughts and hurricanes than ever before have infuriatingly failed to materialise.

FDR Didn’t Spend Enough to Get U.S. Out of Depression

From CNSNEWS Commerce Chairman Says FDR Didn’t Spend Enough to Get U.S. Out of Depression

(CNSNews.com) – Incoming House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) told CNSNews.com Tuesday that Franklin D. Roosevelt “did not spend what was needed” to get people “back to work” during the Great Depression.

None other than old “Nosehair” himself. One of the biggest and stupidest losers in congress.

Video of this tool not recovered.

This just shows that these people were not listening to my Dad when he said, “If you don’t learn from mistakes, you are bound to repeat them.”

The Messiah along with the partisan idiots in the House and Senate will destroy what ever we have left of our country. They are going to put us into unpayable debt for the next 150 years. That is criminal in my book. It is sad to say that some (to many) Rino’s join them in the crimes being committed against the American People and The Constitution.

I am not smart enough to come up with a solution, but neither are they. They have proven that.

Forty three years ago today, my son, Charles Rand was born in the hospital at Fort Irwin California.

Charles, I have not seen you in forty one years I have no idea where you are or if you are even still alive.

I do want to wish you a Happy Birthday on this day. I hope and pray that you are having a good life. I wish I could have been part of it.

Charles, what happened between your mother and me had nothing to do with you. For information only, you have two wonderful half sisters.
A day doesn’t go by, that I don’t think of you.

Once again, Happy Birthday son.
